Mohamed
is a conscientious objector who left Algeria after refusing
to do military service. He arrived in Canada in 1997 via the
U.S. and was subsequently refused refugee status. A spokesperson
for the non-status Algerians, his permanent status in Canada
has been repeatedly denied. In February 2004 he was served
with a deportation order and decided to seek sanctuary in
a Quebec City church... |
